The selected candidate will

The work will be split between writing and reviewing reports and working away from the office, conducting surveys

Our client is a marine consultancy, providing engineering and a number of other specialist services.
For their operation in Aberdeen, ... we are recruiting a DP Marine Consultant, who will be involved mainly in vessel surveys.

General Scope of work:

To undertake surveys
Conduct Failure Mode Effect Analysis of DP vessels
Carry out shipboard FME(C)A proving trials and annual trials
Undertake OVID / CMID inspections as required
Assist in various marine and emergency response activities
Assist in marine legal work
Assist in marketing and growth strategies with particular emphasis on DP/ SIA activities.
To undertake consultancy work and marketing activities

Requirements:
Have a working knowledge of IMCA/ MTS guidance documents and Industry Standards working towards an in-depth knowledge.
Master’s Certificate of Competency Foreign Going (Class 1) and/or Extra Master’s Certificate.
Nautical degree and/or command experience.
DPO Qualification
OVID or CMID accreditation

The role will require a project running individual who is able to take responsibility for:

• Liaising with consultants, contractors etc
• Coordination of all information between consultants, client and contractor
• Ensuring project deadlines are met.

Development Manager

Primary Job Purpose

This role is responsible for the successful delivery of a ... portfolio of sites in the development phase, from acquisition of the land through to Build Start. For each site in their portfolio, the Development Manager will lead an internal and external project team consisting of experts in land purchase, architectural and technical design, Planning, estimating, surveying, construction, pre-contracts, sales, Health and Safety and relevant external subject matter experts, in order to deliver the planned Build Start date to agreed time, budget and quality of design, whilst adhering to business processes, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan and manage all elements of the project from ‘solicitors instructed’ to ‘site start’ and ‘build start’ in accordance with the agreed process, in order to achieve the scheduled build start date, to agreed cost and quality of design.
•After Build Start and during the construction phase, ensure that the external project design team deliver all information needed to achieve First Occupation.
•Drive the project team approach by forming and managing a cohesive project team, with clear roles and responsibilities. The project team consists of internal and external experts in land purchase, architectural and technical design, Planning, estimating, surveying, Pre-Contracts, Health and Safety, construction and sales.
•Ensure the key project meetings take place and chair them effectively to drive clear accountability, good decision-making, communication and achievement of required outputs. Ensure a deputy is nominated in your absence and that issues are escalated through the appropriate channel.
•Build good relationships with external architects and consultants and manage them to deliver against the agreed programme.
•Prepare and manage all project documentation, including a comprehensive project programme to drive critical path activities. Ensure all relevant documentation is shared with the project team.
•Ensure the quality and timeliness of all submissions for Regional and Group sign off (eg Green File, Pink File).
•Produce feasibility studies if required.
•Monitor and report project and Development department measures as defined in the relevant dashboard.
•Work collaboratively within the regional Development department to ensure departmental targets are met, resources work effectively and quality of delivery is assured.
•Give and receive feedback openly and share knowledge, learnings and best practice in order to continuously improve the development process.
•Ensure compliance to Regional and Group processes, policies and procedures.
•Ensure that design team aware of their responsibility to achieve timely approvals from the Planning Authorities and NHBC.
•Be conversant with CML process.
•Ensure Designer Risk Assessments are completed as required on projects.
•Ensure information is gathered to complete service charge calculations.

Our client is a well known brand within the leisure industry. An ... Architectural Technician is now required to join the expanding Property Development department in order to support the team and run architectural projects within the business.


The Role:
• Surveying sites and identifying location benefits
• Carrying out feasibility studies and risk assessments
• Assessing environmental impacts and identifying legal issues
• Analysing architectural plans and drawings, highlighting any possible risks or problems and making amendments using computer-aided design applications (CAD)
• Specifying the appropriate technology and tools to be used in the project and advising where this requires deviation from the initial design plans
• Liaising with the architect, surveyors and other construction professionals, sometimes managing the design project team
• Preparing documents to help with getting planning permission and similar approvals
• Visiting sites to check progress and inspect work

Interested applicants will hold a minimum education level of HND in Architectural Technology and extensive experience working on fit out / refurbishment projects. You will have strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to take ownership of your own performance and ensure targets are met. You will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and as such have strong planning and organisation skills.
