Our Client is a well established surveying and project management ... organisation based out of Dubai. With a long history of working alongside the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, the company continue to deliver excellence in all aspects of their operations throughout the UAE.

A Chartered Valuation Surveyor is now required to assist with the development of the Valuations Department. This will include:
• Business development with major banks
• Negotiation of real estate valuation instructions
• Conducting site inspections
• Preparation of valuation reports including financial analysis

Our client will consider applicants who are willing to relocate and are able to do so within 6-8 weeks of offer.

If you are a Member of RICS with extensive experience of valuing commercial properties and the genuine desire to relocate to the Middle East, this would be an excellent opportunity for you.

Our client offers a tax free starting salary of approximately £50K per annum which will reviewed upon successful completion of 6 month probationary period. Healthcare and annual return flight to country of origin will also be provided.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Islamabad, Pakistan
£100k per annum + all expenses

Our client is an engineering and development ... consultancy employing thousands of professionals in 6 continents.

A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to work with the cost and commercial team with the final account settlement on a large aviation project in Pakistan.

Responsibilities will include:
• Undertake cost analyses for project work
• Perform risk and value management as well as cost control
• Assist, identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks
• Provide advice on contractual claims including Extension of Times
• Measure progress of work and coordinate payments
• Measure variations, quantities and costs
• Negotiate and agree variations for both quantities and costs
• Register and review all drawing issues for quantities and cost implications
• Attend regular site meetings with internal and externals to discuss variations and monthly valuation
• Conduct regular follow up with cost and value consultants and contractors on cost and commercial aspects
• Attend project meetings and represent all cost and commercial issues and actions
• Prepare QS reports including estimate reports, cost reports and variance reports.
• Coordinate with Commercial Manager to analyse cost reports and ensure compliance to defined cost standards for the project
• Attend meetings with client for all cost and commercial aspects during project
• Advise clients on cost variance issues and suggest and get approvals on remedial actions.
• Interface with client to respond to queries on estimating procedures, latest costs etc.
• Advise client on anticipated final completion budget and any corrective action to be taken
• Negotiate and agree close out of final account with contractor

Essential requirements are as follows:
• Minimum Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised university; a PG in Project Management or Construction Contract Law would be a distinct advantage
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction related quantity surveying
• Projects must include major programs; aviation experience would be a distinct advantage
• Proven experience in closing out final accounts on large projects, claims and variations
• Knowledge in evaluating site instructions and variation orders
• Proven experience in assessing and evaluating contractor’s claims
• Ability to relate to individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds

Our client offers a substantial salary package to work in Pakistan together with full expenses for housing, food, travel etc.

Chief Mechanic

Our client provides a variety of services for the oil and gas industry. For their fleet of pipelay and construction barges we are ... recruiting for Chief Mechanics.

You will diagnose reasons of breakdown of barge equipment and will be able to carry out necessary repairs in very short time. You will co-ordinate and supervise all mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs carried out by barge crew.

We would like to hear from candidates with:

10 years of experience in machinery and equipment maintenance
5+ years in supervisory position on construction barges
Experience in working with pipe lay equipment such as Western Gear and SAS Gouda, Clyde Crane, Skagit & Caterpillar Generators.
Formal training in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance

This will be a permanent position with 60/30 rotation with days off paid at a leave rate.
