Sales Manager

Our client is a long ... established and highly respected international organisation delivery blast proof modular solutions to the petrochemical and related industries. A Sales Manager is now required to maintain and further develop the company’s presence within Western Europe.

Responsibilities as follows:
• Promote, sale and explore opportunities for company core products - Blast Resistant Buildings
• Interfacing with clients, providing a clear interpretation of their requirements from the enquiry onset and ensure good working relationship.
• Preparation of annual business development plan for designated region in support of the company’s strategy and objectives. The plan would focus on new business opportunities within that specified region
• Identifying and visiting key clients within the region, following up projects, orders, working on tenders, applications, forecast plans, forecast revenue.
• Reviewing the tenders and quotations documents before submitting for positioning the proposal according to the customer requirements and managing projects development and implementation from instauration to closure.
• Working and interacting with application team before and during the preparation of the technical and commercial proposals.
• Planning and prioritizing personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity
• Ensuring that the service provided is of the highest quality and in line with company standards
• Monitoring and reporting on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information along with current market situation and report on projects and business environment.
• Ensuring that customers fulfil all criteria of the contract such as payment, signing of agreements, guarantees and liaising with accounts department to ensure all invoices are issued and payments are received on time.
• Ensuring management is aware of all current and relevant issues
• Representing company at senior level meetings with domestic and overseas customers; attending trade fairs, seminars etc


Candidates will have
• Excellent business acumen and enterprising skills to quickly build and sustain long term working relationships and generate positive results in line with the company policy and ethics.
• Experience of direct sales and indirect sales to the petrochemical industry within designated European region
• Results driven, a proven track record of growing geographical markets, introducing new clients and bringing new products to market.
• Experience of negotiating major high cost projects
• Experience of project tracking from FEED to procurement.

Our client would ideally prefer an individual based in Germany however will also consider individuals from other mainland Europe locations.

Our client is a highly reputable main contractor ... delivering a range of low and mid-rise projects on the exquisite island of Malta.

The Head of Projects is responsible for all operations related to Projects handled by the company ensuring that the company’s objectives are achieved through the efficient use of its resources.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer and split time between both pre-contract and during and post contract periods as follows:

Responsibilities – Pre-Contract Period:
• Familiarise with Projects’ Conditions of Contract and give feedback to Commercial Manager.
• Preparation of preliminary Programs of Works for submittal with tender.
• Check drawings for specific and/or unusual construction methods requested.
• Formulate list of particular construction equipment that may be required.
• Provide information on the requirements and layout of Site Logistics.
• Identify and plan Projects’ resource requirements.
• Provide technical support and consultancy when necessary.
• Attend any pre-tender meetings when required.

Responsibilities – During and Post Contract Period:
• Setting pre-project briefing meetings with Project/Site Manager in charge to explain targets of the project.
• Allocate work duties to members within the Construction Department.
• Make sure that all Project/Site Managers are provided with construction drawings from client’s architect in time for adequate planning of resources.
• Establish and implement works’ standards for construction activities.
• In case of sub-contracted works, the Head of Projects is to make sure that the Subcontractor’s agreements are in place and all related prices of materials, machinery and services are included.
• Request and obtain approvals for quotations for works/services/materials from sub-contractors and/or suppliers in line with set budgets.
• Approval of procurement of materials, especially those with long delivery periods or technically specialised.
• To attend, when deemed necessary, Site Progress meetings with client and his representatives.
• Monitor and review the Valuations and Cost Control reports with the respective Site/Project Managers.
• Guide Site/Project Managers in identification of variations and ensures that such variations are submitted in time to the Client.
• Setting up of standard procedures, records and reporting methods for projects and ensure these are kept and followed.
• Ensuring that all projects are being completed to the satisfaction of the Owners both from the time and quality aspects.
• Make sure that required level of Quality is achieved on all Projects. Coordination with Quality Manager is expected.
• Review claims with Project/Site Manager/Post Contract QS on regular basis.
• Set up regular meetings with Site/Project Managers.
• On monthly basis, the Projects’ Review Meeting is organised together with Deputy Commercial Manager and the Contracting Accountant.
• Ensure Health and Safety regulations and procedures are enforced on all sites and coordinate with the specific H&S Representatives (in-house and freelance) in order to achieve this objective.
• Provide Technical support to Construction sites when required.

Human Resources duties:
• Manage and allocate construction workers to the various projects after consulting with the Senior Construction Foreman
• Co-ordinate with other SBU’s on human resource requirements.
• Interview potential new employees (at sub-ordinate levels)
• Assess skills of newly entered workforce.
• Ensuring that all the employees within responsibility are periodically assessed (twice annually is the objective).
• Review and authorise wage adjustment requests in relation to employees within his Section.
• Authorise disciplinary procedures to be started against employees within his Section when required.
• Set and update as necessary construction work procedures and general staff duties.
• Liaise with Human Resources Manager for the identification of Training required to all construction Staff and recruitment when required.

This role offers the opportunity to hold a senior role within a well known Construction Contractor.

This will be a contract position, with contract duration until 31.12.2018


Preparing specifications and data sheets for
pressure vessels, tanks, simple process towers, fin-fan coolers, flare and vent stacks, small pumps/air blowers/compressors, instrument air/nitrogen/LPG/diesel fuel packages.

As well as:
• Crusher, screen, belt conveyor and hopper design
• Furnace design including internals, pipe supports
• High-temperature, abrasion-resistant internal insulation
• Hot solids handling (crushed rock, ash) including sealed screw conveyors, cyclones, dust removal
• Corrosion resistant, high-temperature steels
• Containment of H2S in liquid and gas streams passing through equipment (materials of construction and seal specifications etc.)
• Layouts of solids handling equipment

Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU and use English proficiently.


Oil and Gas background is a must.

Ideally my client would like an individual who would be willing to relocate to Malta on a permanent basis however would also consider those willing to be based in Malta for 3-12 months with a view to then being located in their home European city.

Interested applicants must have a demonstrable history of designing 5* hotels, be this lobby areas, bedrooms, restaurants – or indeed the entire hotel! You will possess outstanding ability to sketch and thrive in environments where you can sit with your client and hand sketch in the very location you are refurbishing. You must also be capable of communicating your designs, ideas, material preferences to your team easily and enthusiastically.
