In support of our planned growth Ably Resources seek two additional Recruitment Consultants to work in our busy IT and Big Data Division. Your role will be truly 360, identifying and generating new candidates from around the world whilst developing client relationships in the UK and internationally. As many of our clients are based international you will be expected to travel to Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia and further develop relationships with these clients. This is also an excellent opportunity to move into the fastest growing sector in the market.

Ideally you will be educated to graduate level or equivalent. To succeed you’ll need to be an excellent judge of character and be able to think on your feet to match candidates to relevant job opportunities quickly and effectively. You should also be a confident communicator, as this role will involve constant interaction with a range of clients across the globe. Demonstrating tenacity, determination and strong sales and presentation skills together with a focus on customer satisfaction is a must. Job Summary:

I’m currently working with an international consultancy specialising in the infrastructure, energy and environmental sectors. They are currently looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Contaminated Land Consultant to join their team in Glasgow and provide contaminated land consultancy services across a variety of sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contaminated Land Consultant, Geoenvironmental Consultant or Environmental Scientist to join a dynamic and forward thinking team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the field of contaminated land including site investigation/ supervision, Phase I and II assessments, design and management of remediation plans, risk assessment and reporting.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Key responsibilities include:
• Manage the assessment of potentially contaminated brownfield land, including design and management of remediation plans, risk assessment (DQRA) and reporting
• Take the lead on site work from initial assessments through to implementation of remediation measures – provide detailed reports concerning the project
• Provide assistance to fellow environmental team members and liaise with other environmental specialists within the business
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and agencies (e.g. SEPA)
• Assist in preparation of free proposals/ tenders and the generation of new business

Qualifications / Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Degree and/or MSc educated in relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Science/ Earth Science/ Engineering Geology)
• Demonstrable site investigation, remediation and risk assessment experience in a consultancy or local authority environment is desirable
• Experience of human health and controlled waters DQRA procedures and waste classification is desirable
• Experience of team management, financial management and business development
• Excellent written and verbal communicative skills

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced EIA Consultant or EIA Project Manager to join the Glasgow office of a successful environment, planning and engineering consultancy.

The successful candidate will lead the existing EIA team and provide team management and EIA project management for projects spanning the onshore/ offshore wind, hydro, grid, infrastructure, mining and property sectors. You will work closely with an established team of in house environmental specialists including ecologists, landscape architects, hydrologists and archaeologists.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Lead on the coordination and preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters and Environmental Statements (ES)
• Liaise with in house specialists and sub-consultants, as well as architects, planners and developers
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and statutory bodies as required
• Assist in the preparation of tenders and with the development of new business for the team across a range of sectors, primarily power, renewables and infrastructure.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Degree educated or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Science)
• Member of a recognised professional environmental institution (e.g. IEMA) is desirable
• Proven experience in the management, review and preparation of EIAs for a variety of developments, ideally including grid and road/ rail linear infrastructure
• Thorough understanding of UK EIA and planning legislation
• Business development acumen and good network of contacts across the public and private sectors
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Job Summary:

My client is a leading environmental and planning consultancy with a fantastic pipeline of projects and ambitious growth plans for 2019. They are seeking to appoint a Senior or Principal Ecologist to their established Glasgow team and manage ecological input for a host of proposals in the UK, Ireland and abroad. Working closely with the EIA/ Planning team and other in-house specialists, the Senior or Principal Ecologist will manage projects spanning the renewables (wind, solar, hydro), energy, petrochemicals and property sectors.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Reporting to the Associate Ecologist
• Technical delivery, project and financial management for a range of schemes
• Promote excellence in survey skills, report writing and mapping, including taking the lead in one technical area of the ecology business
• Provide expert advice and technical support to the Scottish Ecology team
• Become an integrated member of the UK ecology team, as well as the EIA/ Planning Team and other environmental specialists
• Assist the Associate in winning work and growing the reputation of the business

Qualifications / Experience:

• Relevant degree education and membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. CIEEM)
• Demonstrable experience within a consultancy environment managing ecological input for a range of proposals
• Holder of SNH or Natural England licence and the ability to devise survey strategies, develop mitigation approaches and lead EPS licence applications from beginning to end
• In-depth knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders – both technically and commercially
• Full driving licence
