In support of our planned growth Ably Resources seek two additional Recruitment Consultants to work in our busy IT and Big Data Division. Your role will be truly 360, identifying and generating new candidates from around the world whilst developing client relationships in the UK and internationally. As many of our clients are based international you will be expected to travel to Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia and further develop relationships with these clients. This is also an excellent opportunity to move into the fastest growing sector in the market.

Ideally you will be educated to graduate level or equivalent. To succeed you’ll need to be an excellent judge of character and be able to think on your feet to match candidates to relevant job opportunities quickly and effectively. You should also be a confident communicator, as this role will involve constant interaction with a range of clients across the globe. Demonstrating tenacity, determination and strong sales and presentation skills together with a focus on customer satisfaction is a must. Job Summary:

I currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Landscape Architect to join the Glasgow, Durham or York office of a successful environmental and planning consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in landscape master planning and assessment, ideally within a consultancy environment. You will work within the existing landscape team alongside other in-house specialists and be responsible for project management of landscape design and assessment schemes spanning the renewables, energy, residential, commercial, and education sectors.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Participation in the production of landscape planning and design outputs for a variety of projects in multiple sectors
• Prepare designs, plans, graphics and photomontages using industry standard software
• Assist with site surveying, vegetation surveys and construction supervision
• Support LVIA and landscape assessments for input to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Liaise with colleagues, clients and statutory bodies

Qualifications / Experience:

• Degree and / or post graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture
• Experience within a landscape practice or environmental consultancy would be beneficial
• Experience in the use of industry software (e.g. CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, WindFarmer) is desirable
• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
• Good written and verbal communication skills

They are working on a number of high profile projects across the UK and internationally and are looking to appoint an experienced Senior or Principal Landscape Architect to their Manchester, Bristol or Cambridge offices.

The ideal candidate will have experience in landscape master planning and assessment/ LVIA, either within a consultancy or local authority. You will work within the existing Landscape Planning team working alongside Landscape Designers, Urban Designers and Town Planners and be responsible for project management of landscape planning and assessment schemes spanning the infrastructure, power, transport and residential sectors.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Key responsibilities include:
• Project manage the preparation of landscape assessments for a host of local and national scale proposals across the infrastructure, energy, aviation and residential sectors
• Managing the existing team on their current, wide-ranging portfolio of projects
• Site surveying and construction supervision
• Preparing LVIAs independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
• Managing the production of graphics
• Client and colleague liaison

Qualifications / Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture
• Chartered Landscape Architect or on Pathway to Chartership
• Demonstrable experience in preparing LVIAs and landscape input to EIAs
• Experience of using CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and preparing hand drawings
• Full clean UK driving license
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Summary:

We are currently looking for a Principal or Associate Landscape Architect to manage and deliver a large array of projects in the infrastructure, energy, renewables, property, waste and mining sectors. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA).

The successful candidate will join one of the world’s leading environmental and engineering consultancies and be part of an expanding, dynamic and successful multidisciplinary environmental planning team.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Management of the production of landscape outputs for a variety of projects in multiple sectors, including renewables, energy transmission and property in the UK and overseas; under direction from the head of landscape architecture
• Undertaking landscape design and assessments for input to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and where appropriate manage EIA production
• Demonstration of commercial acumen and the ability to promote the practice through cross-selling and network building of professional contacts both within, and outside of, the company
• Working with the head of landscape architecture to improve the accuracy and efficiency of LVIA and EIA production;
• Management of project administration and financial controls
• Management of junior staff in project environments or as their line manager.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Degree or Masters in Landscape Architecture
• Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute
• Proven experience managing projects and teams in a consultancy environment and a good track record in the industry
• Demonstrable experience in EIA and LVIA, ideally across different sectors
• Appreciation of masterplanning, urban and sustainable design is desirable
• Confident in representing landscape issues within a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent written, graphic and verbal communication skills and sound knowledge of key software programmes including AutoCAD and Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
